By Chris - May 4, 2010 "My MacBook pro was dropped really really hard, and out of warranty. Screen was broken, maybe more. Looked around Houston for someplace to repair, and here's what I found. Apple store genius bar: 700$ for the screen replacement and 1240$ if they had to replace anything/everything else including the logic board [before tax price]. MacFirstAid did not call me back. MacAmerica was very friendly when I went by, and told me it would be something like 120$ to diagnose which could be applied to the total. I didn't want to leave my computer there so I kept looking. They emailed me the next day and stated their costs would be about the same as the apple store. Found another place on the internet down south that also charged something like 90$ for diagnosis. Called a couple mail in services in other cities, but wasn't thrilled about the turnaround time, or sending my mac off. So then I found UPI. They discovered that the primary problem was the screen and they had to adjust a video card component [the video output jack was not working properly]. Otherwise, the logicboard and the remainder of components were working. They did the work on the video card and replaced the screen for 460$ grand total AFTER tax, and my computer is back in working order. Turnaround time was 4 days total for diagnosis, getting the part, and finishing repair. I am so glad I found these guys to work on my apple products and will DEFINITELY go back in the future. Thanks for saving me $$, but more than that, thanks for the friendly service! One area of improvement: their phone line was sometimes busy or the girl answering left me on hold way too long twice without coming back on. I did have to call for the status, but I was also calling frequently b/c I needed my computer back asap. As soon as they had the part and repair they called me immediately with an update. Thanks again guys! I will be back if I ever need apple repairs again!"

By Darina - Apr 21, 2010 I had a probem with my iphone blocking from time to time and it was a piece of cake for them to fix it. Took their time (at lunch!) to go into details and explain a lot of the settings and app search. Will go there any day! you should try 2‎

I gurantee you I won't think twice when I need their service again. This company is all about business and they took care of me.The techs were so informative friendly and offered other options which i thought was great.I'll be back.‎

Everytime I sought their help they were able to find me a solution within a very short period of time (from few hours to 1 day max). They are not only fast and efficient, they are also honest and affordable. A true gem.‎

I broke my iphone 3GS 32gb while in moving boxes at work, it cracked the glass and The iphone back cover was cracked on the bottom. They replaced the Back and the screen and had it back to me like new out the box not one scratch or a finger print for alot less then 150‎

 

Mike: (Houston) "I went to upi communications to fix my phone and they did a great job fixing my iphone , they have been in business since 1994 and really do a great job fixing and unlocking cellphones , laptops and much more. Very easy to deal with people and are allot cheaper then most places, they fixed my iphone for 1/3 of what APPLE charges.

"So  i was playing with my friends and it got a little ruff, we were horse playing and we stepped on my Sony Vaio 8(. i plugged it up and saw the screen with a big hole in it,(broke the lcd screen). I remembered these guys did laptop repair and i took it over for them to look at it . Same last time the guys over took it in , opened it up ordered the screen for it and had it ready for me in less then a week right on time for my Essay . Surprisingly it was not that expensive .  Insurance on my laptop was 380$ with a 200$ deductible . Laptop was 1800$ they replaced the screen for 280$ 8).
