UPI Communications (formally: Unlimited Paging Inc.) was formed in 1992, in Houston, and incorporated in 1994. The company, privately owned and operated, expanded its operations to Chicago in 2004, and to this day, the owners participate in the day-to-day business of the shops in both Houston and Chicago. Originally selling, repairing and refurbishing pagers for Motorola and PageNet out of Texas, this ended in 1997 with the downfall of PageNet and the advent of cellular phone technology. UPI adapted to the changes in the industry, moving on to focus on the rapidly expanding cellular industry, and brought along its unique ability to service almost anything that came through the door. Today, we at UPI pride ourselves on fast, friendly service for not just cellphones, but computers and laptops , gaming systems, mp3 players and the like, though we're never phased by something new coming in to the shop.
